Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice-President of Sales, the Director of Sales Training will be accountable for the development and implementation of training strategies, plans and processes to support organizational goals. He/She will be responsible for training programs involving new hire training and recurrent training, as well as additional developmental programs such as Field Sales Trainers, District Manager Development, and Leadership Development.


  • Responsible for implementing and developing training programs for new hires, existing employees, field sales trainers, leadership development, field level managers and mentorship programs
  • Assist in developing a training needs assessment process for the field sales force as well as propose delivery methods and post training evaluations
  • Recommend solutions for performance and potential areas of training
  • Identify, design and deliver impactful sales training that improves the competency level of the organization
  • Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered
  • Lead and provide feedback for all classes held at the Home Office
  • Minimum of 15% field time and providing timely coaching/feedback
  • Become product expert on all promoted products
  • Become proficient and certified in various selling models used in the various divisions

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA-preferred
  • At least 10 years in pharmaceutical, life science and/or healthcare industry
  • At least 3 years of managerial and/or cross-functional experience (i.e. Sales, Operations, Marketing, Strategic Accounts)
  • 2 years of Sales Training experience in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Aesthetic, Cosmeceutical or Self-Pay experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Strong presentation and platform skills
  • Strong verbal, listening, written communications skills required
  • Ability to be proactive, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Proficiency in vendor and budget management
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and a commitment to compliance
  • Position is based out of the home office
