Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice-President of Sales, the Director of Sales Operations will be responsible for supporting the Sales & Marketing teams in achieving key business objectives and sales targets through the management and coordination of business-critical work streams and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Congregate and summarize analytic data related to call activity, targeting, resource utilization, incentive compensation schemes and sales/marketing programs to derive key learnings used for decision making, direction, and guidance at national and district levels
  • Proactively monitor business performance and execution (including field force key indicators); Recommend solutions and course correction tactics as needed; Develop reporting mechanisms and key indicators to clearly communicate Field Force performance
  • Oversee KPI reporting to ensure consistency, increased productivity and identification of issues/opportunities
  • Assist in sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals in coordination with the Forecast planning team, Finance, Sales, and Marketing
  • Develop and analyze incentive compensation programs in partnership with Sales, Finance, and Human Resources to provide insights to Head of Commercial Ops, VP of Finance, VP of Marketing, VP of Sales and DSMs
  • Support the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for Field Force reporting and communications
  • Manage Fleet vehicle distributions and monitor fleet driver safety rules and apply corrective action when indicated
  • Act as a liaison to Marketing by managing the field fulfillment system and inventory of samples and literature
  • Facilitate Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA) compliance requirements of sample accountability
  • Liaise with Field Leadership to design, implement and track field-driven innovation programs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA-preferred
  • At least 10 years in pharmaceutical, life science and/or healthcare industry
  • At least 5 years of managerial and/or cross-functional experience (i.e. Sales, Operations, Marketing, Strategic Accounts)
  • 3 years of Sales Operations experience in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal constituencies, such as Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, and Humans Resources to achieve corporate objectives
  • Proficiency in vendor and budget management
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and a commitment to compliance
  • Previous experience with CRM management and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, project management, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Self-organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel 15-20% of the time
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs
